ugh.

I'm waiting for my in laws to descend upon me this weekend.

Lord give me strength....

...and a laptop so I could disappear into a bathroom or something to blog about them when it all becomes too much.

In the meantime. I give you this.

How toddlers help clean.

You see the ugly couch? What you don't see is the black industrial photography studio (thank you RIT) tape holding it all together. And the ugly rug? Well that I will spare you the close up of. Just ewwwww.

So here is where you come in. Help me spend my tax return.

This....

and this (with ottoman) ala 'Cindy Crawfords Collection' at Raymour and Flanigan...

Or should I stick with a sectional? If you were coming over for a gathering** lets say...where would you want to sit? Would you find a 3 seat sofa (remember someone must park it on the crack because there are only 2 pillows) and chair/ottoman enough seating?

Would you want to put your footsies on this?

There is a little blue in there right?

Just pretend you see it, its on sale and its Pottery Barn.

**Where a gathering indicates 6-8 people for informal food and company.

***Edited to add that I don't like the throw pillows so much. Cause in now way do those things go with that rug.

We practically have the same couch! Except, ours wasn't from Pottery Barn, but it was probably just as expensive since we bought it from one of the few furniture stores in Northern Vermont.

I'd go for the non-sectional option myself. You have more options if you ever want to rearrange the room, or if you move and your living room is smaller than the one you have now.

Good luck with the in-laws! My MIL gets here in 10 days. I can't wait! (no sarcasm, she's so much better than my evil witch of a mother).

Sorry, I was confused - the rug is from Potter Barn...doh!

I have a love hate relationship with our sectional-I love how many it seats-i hate that I can't rearrange. I do love the idea of a sofa & loveseat tho.

PS> love the rug

The sofa and chair looks exactly like ours from Raymore and Flannigan (except of course, color wise) and if it is, it is soooo comfortable. Seriously, I love my chair like that!

The rug, I don't love so much. Well I do love it, it just doesn't seem like it goes with the blue.

I love the blue couch and chair! I also enjoy the new rug! I have a sectional currently and find that it would be better if I had a couch and chair. The sectional takes up a lot of room and, as Domestic Extraordinaire & Swiggy said, I can't rearrange.

Sympathies.... I'm currently sitting at my in-laws' kitchen table, typing on my MIL's laptop.

Honest advice on the couch? I have the two cushion/plant someone in the crack setup, and it works only if your friends are either willing floor-sitters or willing to cuddle with each other a little bit. So. Do with that what you will. I do love our couch when it's just the two of us.

I can't have an opinion on the rug because I'm allergic to florals in general....... Eric, on the other hand, just looked over my shoulder and said, "Oh, that's neat."
